Reports: Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban To Join ‘Idol’

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Multiple news outlets, including E! Online, are reporting that Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban will join the star-studded cast of judges on “American Idol.” The announcement was made by Fox, the celebrity news website reported. Emmy-nominated show host Ryan Seacrest took to Twitter on Sunday with the news. Urban also tweeted, “SO excited to be joining the team on @AmericanIdol!!!!!! -KU” In July, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and singer/actress Jennifer Lopez announced that they were leaving as judges of the singing competition after two seasons. Tyler first made his announcement on July 12, followed by Lopez the following day. Season 12 premieres in Jan. 2013.
