The premiere of Saturday Night Live ‘s 38th season began with a cold open featuring actor Jay Pharoah ‘s impression of President Barack Obama . Pharoah replaced veteran cast-member Fred Armisen as the show’s regular Obama impersonator. Speaking with an enormous amount of ums and ahs, “Obama” made the case for why his opponents are unattractive candidates. A hokey Mitt Romney , played by Jason Sudeikis (who, yes, is still a cast-member) was referred to as the Obama campaign’s “secret weapon.” Younger cast-member Taran Killam debuted his new Paul Ryan impression just in time for the election, replete with a strong Wisconsin accent and a boatload of math-related jokes. Expect more Romney, Ryan, Obama and Biden spoofs to come. Watch the brand-new cold open below, via NBC: – – >> Follow Andrew Kirell (@AndrewKirell) on Twitter
